While I do believe people can grow and change, this dude has always seemed like a sleaze bag to me. You can get a feel for his personality from his old mr beast style content. Then he switched things up and it got more views so he dubbed himself an investigative journalist. He’s not a journalist; he’s a sensationalist doing it for the shock value and clicks. His audience is probably young and if you read through some of his comments, they seem to regard him as a “boots on the ground journalist with no slant.” But he clearly has a slant and tries to frame things a certain way. Tommy G and Brandon Buckingham also kind of do similar content but at least Tommy seems like a genuine guy, even though I don’t always agree with him.

Racism towards indians has been normalized because of how many indian immigrants are in countries worldwide. India does after all have the highest international diaspora.

It’s never sat right with me that the video always clearly hits one side or the other in the algorithm, as the comments reflect. And, surprise surprise, the verdict still never changes. Plus, the comment section always picks their villain of the video and decides to pull focus on despising them instead of the whole point of the show.

As a white American who married a (very handsome 😁) Indian, I get annoyed when my coworkers keep making rude stereotypical jokes about him in front of me, as if I would find it funny for some reason. I don’t, I just find it completely inaccurate. It happens so much where I see Americans around me just make fun of Indian culture and India. We all have complex lives, thoughts, emotions, and problems. Film has a massive influence on people, and if all they see is a silly portrayal of a culture or type of person, that’s all they’ll come to understand. Glad there are at least some movies out there available to Americans where the Indian characters are taken seriously and have complex emotions, as well as not just being the butt of every joke or the side character.
